About Robert McMichael

Robert McMichael is a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer licensed in 36 states and with nearly 40 years of engineering consulting and expert experience. He is board certified as a Diplomate, Geotechnical Engineering (D.GE) by the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Geo-Institute’s Academy of Geo-Professionals. He is also licensed as a Geotechnical Engineer in the State of California. He was educated at Purdue University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (1985) and Master of Science in Civil Engineering (1986). He has lived and worked in the States of Texas, Indiana and Arizona. His experience covers the range of project phases including feasibility, planning and alternatives analysis studies, due diligence investigations, design phase geotechnical studies, construction-phase support projects as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record and post-construction (forensic) studies. For many years, he served as the Chief Engineer and Managing Principal of a major, multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental firm in Phoenix, Arizona. He currently resides in the Phoenix area, but practices through the United States and internationally. His diverse experience has given him the ability to understand problems and apply solutions in a wide range of locations and jurisdictions. At this stage in his career, his focus is forensic engineering analysis and support for complex insurance claims, damaged property and construction problems, claims and litigation. He is an accomplished expert witness, having provided deposition, arbitration and trial testimony well over 100 times.
