About Robert McMinn

My fuel career began as a Fuel Specialist in the USAF. I refueled many aircraft, operated storage facilities and pipelines, in addition to overseas traveling. I was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for duty during Operation Desert Storm. I was honorably discharged following my enlistment. Next, I worked as both process operator and distribution operator at what was BHP Refinery in Kapolei, Hawaii. Following this, I pursued an Associates at Anne Arundel C.C. in Arnold Md; my wife had been transferred to Ft. Meade, Md. My wife retired the USAF and thereafter we moved to North Carolina where I was soon hired by Williams Gas Pipelines at the Pine Needle LNG facility in Stokesdale, NC. Pine Needle is a peak-shaving plant. We performed our own maintenance as well as liquefaction and vaporization operations. Finally, an opportunity to work in Miami FL to as Console Operator for New Fortress Energy opened. This would promise an advance in pay as well as a move to a tropical environment. My wife was able to transfer with her VA job to Florida, so we moved. At New Fortress Energy Miami LNG plant I have grown. I have worked as both inside and outside operator, The Console operator primarily starts/ shuts-down all operations with the aide of the Field operator while completing the appropriate procedures. Additionally, he/she must answer to all visitors, phone calls, radio calls while creating job orders, record keeping, Bills of Lading and inventory. The Field operator must perform all duties associated with production in addition to the filling of train tender cars, LNG tankers, and ISO-containers. In addition to this, I also operate a telescopic forklift and an Ottawa Terminal Truck.
