About Robert Mearns

I started out my adventure at UC Davis where I quickly realized my forte was in communications, using my deep radio quality voice in concert with my persuasive writing skills. I employed these skills first as a communications course supervisor, followed by personnel director, and then as a waiter and restaurant owner. Following my restaurant career, I became an executive assistant to a multi-million dollar poetry and vanity press publisher. All of these positions utilized public relations, strong customer service, along with saavy sales and negotiationing acumen. I became an advertising sales executive, office manager, and trainer, working with CEO, Brent Naylor, founder of Naylor Publications Inc, the number one publisher for trade association publications in the world. I excelled at ad sales, winning top awards for best team player and the most company renewals. I was promoted into management, opening a new office in Austin, Texas, where I ran all management operations, including hiring and training the sales team. I went on to open my own business, Home Amenities, an ADT home security franchise. I later became a self-employed caregiver for several patients, counselling them and taking care of their needs. During this time, I also furthered my knowledge of real estate investing and became an owner- builder on a home remodel expansion. Most recently I've worked as a lead cook at a State run institution near Fresno, Ca, overseeing and assigning other cooks as well as assisting in inventory control and overall quality. I am currently re-building my foundation and will be seeking work in management, working directly with a sales team, utilizing my skills in training, and tying them into providing outstanding customer service, great public relations, and high sales numbers. I'm flexible and full of humility to do anything. I am an entrepreneur at heart, and so, I understand what reality looks like from where the buck stops; from the prospective of an owner.
