About Robert Moran

With a longstanding interest in travel, tourism, and sustainability, I work to find ways to integrate travel with environmental and social issues. My educational background at the University of Exeter and King's College London have involved investigating the impacts of tourism on local communities around the world. In my current role as Sustainability Coordinator, I ensure that our business (InsideTravel Group) is sustainable and our travel is responsible. I am also an Insider based in Japan guiding clients around the country and working to be a part of responsible, positive travel solutions that contribute towards local development, environmental sustainability and unforgettable trips. I have researched the role of tourism in wildlife conflict and conservation in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania, and in disaster recovery in Kesennuma, Japan. My industry experience includes flights and logistics in commercial travel in Australia, as well as business/MICE travel in the UK, working as part of the flights team to deliver the IBTM World 2018 in Barcelona. I have also have key experience in event management as part of the University of Exeter Graduate Business Programme, organising conferences and events for the Doctoral College.
