Hello, my finance experience has been over the past 6 years at Citigroup. Starting in the margin department, Tri-party group right out of Rutgers I was exposed to the back operations of trading and sales. I learned what goes on behind the scences to make the whole process flow smoothly. After switching groups and moving to Re-Org, I learned how mergers take places, learned how securities go from Unregistered to Registered, restriced to unrestriced. Also gained knowledge of tender and consents payments, redemptions, canadian offerings as well as domestic offerings. After leaving Re-Org I joined the Fixed Income Syndicate desk as a Trading Assistant, moving up to Assistant Vice President in two years. Being now involved in Front Office operations I am learned the business of High Grade/High Yield/Emerging Markets syndicate offerings. I process all the trades, make sure accounting is accruing the deals correctly, assist in settling trades, price up bonds on bloomberg and be a liasion between traders and other areas including other broker dealers.
