About Robert Nichols

Provided MSP level services for 50+ clients in different regions, but mostly around Cincinnati, OH. While my skillsets are oriented towards the technical engineering side (being a computer scientist), my management roles as CIO of Appica (Tier 2 Datacenter and MSP) were distributed across several USA based corporate customers. Along the way, took on the challenges of our customers' technology, including management, budgeting as well as designing, implementing and supporting their technical infrastructure. The goal was always to enhance each customer's business productivity, while maximizing their investment. In recent years, there was an increased focus on VMware Virtualization, working with multiple storage platforms, along with business continuity and disaster recovery toolsets like VMware VDPa and Veeam Backup and Replication. Fully utilized my vast experience with several operating systems (Microsoft, Linux) and networking / firewall solutions (i.e. Sonicwall, pfSense, VMware vCloud Edge). In addition, I architected several platforms as a full partner with DELL, Cisco, NetApp, Synology, HP Networking, VMware and Microsoft. Since 2002, have been the primary technology director, on a consulting/sub-contractor basis, for the Western & Southern Open Tennis tournament in Mason, OH (http://wsopen.com). Have managed all areas of technology for Cincinnati Tennis LLC, who runs the event.
