I am an accomplished plant Agronomist eager to exploit my full potential in agriculture to increase agricultural productivity and reduce poverty and malnutrition. Additionally am interested in engaging more in climate change attributes and their influence on food security. Competencies- • Excellent skills in crop research management, including technical and financial aspects, monitoring and evaluation of research performance, and reporting. • Exel in communicating research and research results to professional, expert and non-expert audiences and developing and maintain collaborative relationships with a range of different stakeholders. • Excellent fieldwork skills that require a sharp eye for visual selection and use of statistical designs in setting up field layout for field trials. • I have wide experience in seed systems that has encompassed public, private and development sectors in matters related to seed regulation, quality control, variety development, seed health and seed business development. • Excellent skills in disease diagnosis especially in the detection of seed born virus, bacteria and fungi. • Excellent skills in the use of various trial management and data analysis software packages, including Fieldbook, R, META-R, Genstat, and MS Excel. • I have comprehensive supervision, managerial and trouble-shooting skills. I have contributed greatly to developing efficient processes to better conduct our research activities. • A good reader of field maps and labeling of nurseries, field demonstrations and trials as per the required standards. • Sufficient computer user skills i.e. Ms Word, Ms excel, Ms PowerPoint & internet. • Ability to work with minimum or no supervision to meet the set objectives and targets. • Flexible, team player, good listener and quick to learn. • Ability to excel in highly competitive environments, ready and willing to work for long hours. • Result oriented positive outlook to life. • Great knowledge of agriculture, food security and international development priorities and frameworks relevant to the sustainability of small-holder farming in the context of climate change.
