About Robert Osder

I'm currently a Senior from New Jersey pursuing a degree in Political Science and a certificate in Ethics at Arizona State University, I have previously chaired the Philanthropy committee and served on the Judicial Board for the Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) Fraternity. In addition, I am a member of the Student Economic Association as well as the Undergraduate Law Association. In my hometown, Haworth, NJ, I was deeply involved in the community. I became a junior member of the Haworth Volunteer Fire Department at age 14 where I learned the importance of service and reliability as well as how to execute in situations under extreme pressure with very little room for mistakes. As an Eagle Scout in Troop 73, I held the positions of Senior Patrol Leader and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. These positions taught me how to effectively communicate and organize meetings and events for large groups. Additionally, I learned how to adapt to different students' learning styles to effectively teach information ranging from first-aid knowledge to food preparation. For my Eagle Scout project I created our town's only memorial dedicated to those that gave their lives in wars from WWI to Vietnam. I recruited and managed a team of local residents to do in-depth research and interviews on 8 heroes who were killed in action. The project timeline spanned 18 months during the COVID-19 outbreak which caused me to have to find solutions and adapt to roadblocks completely out of my control. The budget for the project was over and the result is a memorial garden with illustrated historical plaques and benches in a community park. I continued my commitment to service through the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, volunteering with organizations including Feed my Starving Children and The Salvation Army. In our fall 2021 philanthropy initiative,"Shave to Save", we raised over for the Arizona based non-profit TGen Center for Rare Childhood Disorders. In the spring of 2025, I will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. It is my hope to continue my education by pursuing a Juris Doctor upon graduation.
