Social worker who openly accepts the opportunity to assist others move through the uniqueness of their individual lives. I have reinforced my ability to work with interdisciplinary teams, and enhanced my interpersonal skills working with individuals, families and community groups. My exposure and experiences included providing psychosocial support to clients in the form of one-on-one counseling as well as group therapy. Assisted clients with their needs and desires to move out of poverty and find respectful, stable housing as well as job retraining opportunities. Expertise in assisting people achieve career and life goals; I've facilitated workshops assisting over 3500 military veterans successfully move to the next chapter of their lives. Coached, led and collaborated with clients to develop strong, marketable job search campaigns which have included change and stress management, tapping into the hidden job market, networking, resume writing and interviewing skills. Translated that experience to collaborating with individuals recently released or currently incarcerated and challenged by chronic homelessness, connecting them with scattered or place-based, harm-reduction housing first options. Strong ability to lead and foster positive and open communications; calm and focused motivator in demanding military or social-service based crisis-focused and short-term counseling environments.
