About Robert Palmer

I am an enthusiastic, hardworking graduate from Leeds Beckett University where I achieved a First Class Honours degree in Human Geography and Planning. I am currently working as an Assistant Planner at PWA Planning in Preston. A position in which I demonstrate the strong communication and teamwork skills developed through my voluntary and work experience. From a young age I have a had a strong passion for equality and communities. Studying Geography and Sociology at A Level, and Human Geography and Planning at University, has taught me what makes a strong neighbourhood that can achieve its potential and grow. Geography, Sociology and Planning therefore inspired me to seek a career in the planning sector and help fight the housing crisis by creating strong communities within neighbourhoods that people can afford to live in and be proud of. Football has been, and continues to be, a big part of my life. I am an active member of clubs in Preston. To give back to the junior football club I played for as a boy, I volunteer as their social media officer and attend committee meetings each month. In addition, I look forward to completing my FA Level 1 Coaching Course at some point in the near future. For over 4 years, I worked as a waiter for one of the country’s leading hospitality chains: Mitchells & Butlers PLC. During my time in this position, I have fulfilled various roles across the inn in order to meet team needs, demonstrating my strong commitment and willingness to learn new skills. Liaising effectively with all colleagues in order to provide an excellent service was also a crucial part of my position.
