Leadership development, family enterprise, board governance and succession planning specialist who has been consulting to Australian privately-owned and family enterprises and their leaders for over 40 years. I'm a fully accredited Specialist Adviser Member of Family Business Australia, the peak body representing family businesses and their advisers in Australia, and have completed Certificates in Family Business and Family Wealth Advising with the Family Firm Institute, the peak body worldwide representing family business advisory professionals. I have been a spokesperson on business and taxation issues affecting mid-size businesses and family enterprises, and have been actively involved in SME-related think tank groups with the Australian Taxation Office. I was also a foundation member of the former Federal Government's Small Business Advisory Committee, and have been a member of the Expert Panel to the Board of Taxation. I am a 40-year member and Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (FCA), and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).Leadership coaching and development: I am a Chair of The Leadership Think Tank Australia (LTTA), a peer support network whose members include CEO's, business owners, entrepreneurs and senior executives of some of Australia's best known and respected companies. I facilitate monthly meetings where LTTA members workshop their challenges and opportunities in a safe and confidential environment, and provide members with one-on-one coaching and mentoring.Family enterprises: families in business face many inherent challenges, including management of generational succession, dealing with family conflict, and preparing the next generation for leadership. Through my experience in working with business families over many years, I am well equipped to guide families through these challenges. I am passionate about assisting family businesses achieve best practice in family and business governance, strategy development and decision making.
