About Robert Reif

I have been in the wind industry for 13 years with one of the world’s leading gearbox manufacturers, and two of the top global Wind Turbine manufacturers. Most of my time in wind has been spent developing, implementing, and driving the execution of unique up-tower drive-train repair solutions. I have extensive knowledge of gearbox failure mode analysis and Borescope inspection and review. In addition to my up-tower experience, I have spent time in manufacturing management, claims management, and operations management positions. I have also been through an extensive LEAN process leadership training program and have led many successful improvement projects. I have also been serving in the Army National Guard for 15 years. I started my military career as an enlisted soldier, and after only 4 years achieved the rank of Sergeant. After my time as Sergeant, I was selected for Officer Candidate School which is a 2 year program with extensive focus on leadership, time management, communication, mental agility, and planning. I successfully completed the program and received my federal commission as an Army Officer in 2013. After completing Officer Candidate School, I continued my studies at the Army Logistics University to become a qualified Quartermaster and Logistics Officer. I have since held positions as a Platoon Leader, Operations Officer, Company Commander, Operations Officer on a Battalion staff during a combat deployment, and currently hold an Advisor Team Lead position with the 6-54th SFAB. In my over 13 years of professional experience, I have found that people make all of the difference. I try to do everything I can to embody the servant leader approach and help my team members, or anyone within an organization, reach their potential. I am a strong advocate for continued education and constant improvement. After all, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of the strong leaders I have had the fortune to meet throughout my journey. I feel that it is my job to pay it forward.
