Background
About Robert Richardson
At the Office of Management and Budget, my leadership in economic analysis sharpens the nation's approach to budgeting and policy on critical issues. I conduct research on economic issues with high relevance to the fiscal condition of the Federal Government, including research on the effectiveness of tax policies and spending programs. I also review and critique materials for consideration by the Council of Economic Advisors and the Council on Environmental Quality, and I review legislation and testimony. My collaboration across federal agencies ensures the development of robust methodologies for economic analysis and assessing future financial risks. Previously, as a Professor adept in environmental economics, I led innovative research, teaching, outreach, and mentoring for over 17 years. The skills honed there, from natural resource economics to policy analysis, now guide my recommendations at the OMB, reflecting a steadfast commitment to economic development and resilience.
