About Robert Rosner
My background is in theoretical physics and applied mathematics, especially in areas related to fluid dynamics, plasma physics, and more generally in computational physics and high-performance computing. Most of my professional life has been spent in academia; but I have also been a senior manager for a major Department of Energy national laboratory (Argonne National Laboratory), serving as its chief scientist, associate lab director and director. I am now back at the University of Chicago, working on computational fluid dynamics problems. I co-founded the Energy Policy Institute at the University, an activity that also connects with my past work with the American Academy of Arts & Sciences' Global Nuclear Future project and with the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
