About Robert Savage

I have more than 29 years of oil field operations and related work experience. Starting oilfield career working as a floor hand for small drilling company(Flourney Drlg. Co.) in Alice TX, worked my way up to tool pusher. From there I joined Baker Hughes drilling systems which now is Baker Inteq for 13 years. 3 years as MWD field engineer, then directional driller for 8 years. Working Gulf of Mexico (Drilled first reentry Slime Hole horizontal in the GOM) and all over the United States, moved into office as drilling coordinator for the last 3 years with Baker Hughes. After leaving Inteq I joined Schlumberger in Midland TX, as drilling operations supervisor. I made the hard decision to leave SLB when they closed the Midland facility and moved it to Alice TX, Since that time I have helped open 3 directional companies in the Permian Basin one of which was Schlumberger when they returned to Midland. I’m presently working for Concho Resources as Drilling Superintendent Texas. Operational experience: Texas (All Areas), Gulf of Mexico, New Mexico, Colorado, North Dakota, Wyoming, Oklahoma, California (Elk Hills, Lost Hills), Mississippi, Alabama, and Pennsylvania. I have accelerated my career from field operations, business segment management to present Drilling Sup. through demonstrating a high work ethic, leadership performance and project management. Throughout my career I have attended several continual education courses involving all aspects of the oil and gas industry, supervision and management. Specialties: All aspects of directional / horizontal drilling, project management & Wellbore construction.
