About Robert Shepard

Robert Shepard is in-house counsel at one of the leading copyright and royalty administration companies in the music industry, an intellectual property professional, and a former literary agent. After many years in the publishing industry, including 20 years in charge of his own literary agency, Robert earned his law degree at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 2014, with honors in the intellectual property concentration. While in law school, Robert served as a judicial extern at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and also held an internship at Peter Law Group, a Beverly Hills entertainment and labor law practice. Robert was Senior Technical Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. His note,"Copyright's Vicious Triangle," received the David W. Burcham Award for best student law review article. Following law school, he had the honor of serving as a judicial law clerk to the Chief Magistrate Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Robert is a member of the State Bar of California and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Robert joined Music Reports, Inc. as Associate Counsel in June 2016 and is now Associate General Counsel.
