About Robert Shilling

Robert is a Chartered Accountant and has been working in the areas of Advisory, Restructuring and Insolvency since joining BDO in 2013. In addition to being a Chartered Accountant, Robert is also a qualified civil engineer. Robert has extensive experience providing advisory and restructuring services to a broad range of clients across various sectors including construction, hotel & leisure, food & beverage, residential property, commercial property, credit unions and banking. In that time, Robert has built up considerable experience across these sectors, including dealing with trading entities, asset management and property management. Robert has managed insolvency assignments including Examinerships, SCARPs, Trading Receiverships, Asset Receiverships, Court Liquidations, Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations and Members’ Voluntary Liquidations. He has worked with various financial institutions in both informal restructurings and in formal appointments. Robert has also been involved in advisory work including property acquisitions and disposals, independent expert reports, financial monitoring, restructuring & refinancing assignments and company turnarounds. Robert has been a member of the Restructuring & Insolvency Ireland (RII) Younger Members’ Committee since 2020 and was appointed to the RII Council in 2023.
