I started my career in the late '80s as a hydrogeologist and environmental manager. I transitioned into IT in late 1998 due to an odd circumstance. I have done everything from networking to server installations to application development. I am self-taught in.NET, C#, JavaScript, jQuery (and mobile), and SQL (and many other technologies). I am looking for an opportunity to leverage my.NET development and Azure/IoT experience. My first IT position was with a non-profit, where I provided hardware and software support for 13 retail stores ranging from Longmont, Colorado, to Colorado Springs. In that role, I replaced every PC in the entire network. I also oversaw the installation of new Ethernet cabling in the corporate office. In terms of software support, I procured and provisioned an Oracle database server. I converted legacy database sales reports to Oracle PL/SQL. A this stage in my career, I was just learning HTML, but continued learning more and added new languages, such as Java. I spent several years from to 2007 implementing commercial content management systems for clients from DC to California. During these days, my Web development skills advanced significantly having learned Java, VB.NET, C#, and ASP.NET, and of course HTML. A job with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) brought me to Dallas from College Station in April of 2007. I was part of a team of developers in a 700-person IT department that worked on an e-commerce platform. That system served military customers around the world. As of 2014, the e-commerce system handled orders worth My days back then were filled with Web development work. We regularly performed production updates to maintain the system and to provide new features. We received such update requests from a team of business analysts in the marketing department. From March 2014 to March 2017, I worked for the Bass Group of companies in downtown Fort Worth. The emphasis during this time was designing and building an oil and gas production data warehouse. I attended a class at New Horizons in Las Colinas, TX, on the use of Microsoft’s Master Data Services (MDS) data warehouse product. I worked with a data engineer and a vice president on modeling petroleum production surface and down-hole equipment. I spent a little over a year building and populating the data warehouse.
