About Robert Steeg

I have been been advising on all legal aspects of international finance transactions since 2005. Before joining Bond Advocaten in 2022, I worked for seven years in the banking and finance department of Stibbe. Prior to that I worked for nine years at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, both in Amsterdam and New York City. I have been seconded to the legal teams of AkzoNobel and ABN AMRO Bank respectively. I advise lenders and borrowers on loans, structured finance and financial derivatives transactions. I regularly lecture and write articles on these topics. I am praised by clients for my excellent legal skills and my high service standard. At Bond Advocaten, I deliver ‘big law’ quality and genuine partner-level involvement at truly competitive rates. In 2005 I passed the Solicitor Qualification Exam (SQE1) with results in the upper quintile for both FLK 1 and FLK2, marking the completion of all the requirements to apply for admission as a solicitor in England and Wales. This will help me to even better serve the needs of our firm's clients, especially when advising on cross-border finance transactions as well as ISDA Master Agreements and other English law governed financial derivatives contracts.
