CFRE • Organizational builder • Stalwart ambassador • Tenacious advocate • Team leader • Shared Economy expert Robert St.Genis created a nonprofit organization, Homeless Reduction Movement Foundation(HRM Foundation, Inc) which builds consortiums to address life scenarios which lead the vulnerable into homelessness. HRM bridges the gap between community & funding resources to contribute towards the success of individuals facing hardships to become a foundation for change. Their end goal is to stop homelessness before it starts working with organizations that address issues such as PTSD, LGBT issues, domestic violence, human trafficking and many others that make up the tapestry that land our least fortunate to the streets. Recovery will always be a component offered in their programs but addiction is most often a symptom of an underlying problem to be addressed. As Senior Consultant at HRM Consulting, Robert was the leader in Short Term Rental legislation in California. The firm built unique strategies on reasonable regulations and other aspects of the disruptive economy. Their plans deliver ways to advocate responsible management components of the shared economy so there is a synergy where all thrive. Robert has extensive experience in advocating on short term rentals throughout the 88 municipalities in Los Angeles County, in addition to efforts throughout the state and with the state government in Sacramento. His effectiveness resulted from ever increasing knowledge and work with the CA Coastal Commission and working and learning more and more on issues related to affordable housing, CEQA and other land use issues. Robert’s continual involvement in issues related to homelessness, CEQA, land use and affordable housing come from unique and differing perspectives having advocated for short term rentals and the reasonable regulations and responsible management of them and also being a strong advocate heading a nonprofit organization advocating for the homeless. He has been his entire adult life advocating on LGBT and other social justice issues. His positions are far from one sided and continually evolving. He is aware there isn't one-side nor one solution on any myriad of issues. His entrepreneurial background, combined with that working with nonprofit entities and varied levels of government provides him unique perspectives and a great balance at many tables
