About Robert Stirrat

As an accomplished Head of Construction, I have delivered complex onshore and offshore projects within oil and gas for global organisations. I have held several roles in Construction Management, and Electrical, and Instrumentation in oil and gas where I have worked with contractors and suppliers to ensure all works were delivered on time and to specification requirements. I have successfully delivered construction works across different projects and working with different disciplines where I have strong interpersonal skills and prioritise project governance and control. Throughout my career, I have prioritised the safety of construction sites through embedding best practice and prioritising a safety culture. I have embedded clear processes and procedures working in partnership with clients, colleagues, and suppliers. I have successfully delivered complex offshore and onshore works working alongside Project Managers. This has included shutdowns and major installation and commissioning works. For example, I have been responsible for managing multi-disciplined teams to deliver the integrity processes and ensure offshore work is complete on time and safely. This has involved construction kick-off meetings as well as daily meetings covering operational and construction activities to identify risks and manage safety issues for simultaneous operations (SimOps). I prioritise safe working practices including using ISSOW systems and permits to work systems. I have also coordinated shift working, reviewed progress of work completed, and prioritised quality management in line with technical and engineering standards. I prioritise the handover of certification works upon completion of construction including ensuring all engineering, maintenance and operational designs and activities are delivered. By working onshore and offshore I have experience understanding the risks, permits and certifications. I enjoy a challenge and working in a construction environment where there is the opportunity to lead and deliver complex projects on time, within budget and to specification. I work well with contractors and management teams and believe I am a valuable addition to a project team.
