About Robert Sturr
I currently serve as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at Kent State University at Stark, located in North Canton, Ohio. Stark is one of seven KSU Regional Campuses that provide affordable access to college throughout Northeast Ohio. I've been an English professor at Kent Stark since 1997. I teach composition and literature, including courses in American literature, great books, major modern writers, young adult literature, the Bible as literature, and other areas. My research has focused on early American magazines, the contemporary author Ha Jin, and the early 20th century African American poet Theodore Henry Shackelford. Recently, I created two scholarships in honor of my late parents, Prof. George B.T. Sturr and Dr. Angela R. Young, to support KSU Stark students in humanities or health care pathways.
