About Robert Travis

As a Transportation Engineer, I am responsible for assisting the team to clear Texas DOT construction projects and Division projects that involve the Railroads throughout the State of Texas. I am also the Subject Matter Expert for the railroad-highway environment and provide advice on public projects in the State. I am proud of increasing the participation and successful coordination between road projects and railroads so that in the end both the public and railroads benefit from safer, more efficient travel. In my new position, we are also seen as National leaders in this very specific and detailed type of work. coordinating with a private railroad company for the safe use of their land by our projects and the general public. Specialties: Railroad Liaison, railroad agreement formation and execution, plan review and comment. Identifying railroad related issues and offering mitigation strategies. Developing policies, procedures and guidelines for project and agreement development including invoice review and approval. Management various railroad-highway related functions. Providing oversight, mentoring and training to District Personnel on these and other railroad related issues.
