About Robert Vera

As a senior vice president and budget director at New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), I lead the operations of the $10 billion capital and expense budget that supports the city's economic growth and opportunity. With over 9 years of experience in local government budgeting, policy analysis, and financial management, I have a proven track record of delivering results and optimizing resources for complex and diverse projects and programs.In my current role, I develop briefing materials and reports for the City Council budget hearings, evaluate and coordinate on the condition of hundreds of project budgets and overall funding compliance, and leverage my data analysis and manipulation skills to inform strategic decisions. Previously, I oversaw the $5+ billion capital budget at NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, where I also secured federal funding for disaster recovery projects as the authorized representative for FEMA's Public Assistance Program. I hold a master of public administration (MPA) from Cornell University, where I specialized in public budgeting and financial management, and a certification in financial management from eCornell. I am passionate about public service and committed to advancing the economic and social well-being of New York City and its residents.
