About Robert W. Jackson

I am an accomplished Electric Utility Engineering professional with extensive experience in Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning and Protection. With over 25 years’ experience working with the electric utility industry, I have a deep understanding of electrical system modeling, planning, and the analytical tools used to evaluate system performance and support capital planning processes and NERC compliance. I am highly motivated and disciplined with the analytical and technical skills required to solve complex transmission planning challenges. This includes performing system studies such as steady-state power flow, transient stability, post transient, reactive margin (QV and PV curves) and short circuit analysis. These studies support Generator Interconnection, Transmission Planning, and WECC Path Rating reviews. I joined Burns & McDonnell in 2017 following my ten years at Utility System Efficiencies, Inc where I was a Principal Power Systems Engineer. I have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, high self-expectations and the ability to deliver results for utility customers. My background includes site evaluation, interconnections requests (including LGIP, SGIP, and WDAT Interconnection Application procedures).
