I have practiced law throughout Kentucky since graduating from the University Of Kentucky College of Law in 1990. My practice is diverse and I am experienced in commercial and civil litigation in state, federal and appellate courts throughout the state, focusing primarily on municipal liability, public sector defense, civil rights litigation, employment litigation and general insurance defense. My experience in governmental entity defense includes defense of local governments, governmental agencies and officials in connection with claims brought under both state and federal law, including Section 1983, negligence claims and state constitutional claims, for alleged deliberate indifference to medical needs, excessive force, wrongful termination and abuse of process, among other claims unique to city and county governments. I have also practiced extensively in the area of insurance defense litigation since graduating from law school, including claims of product liability, medical malpractice, bad faith and general liability claims. I also advise McBrayer's corporate clients with respect to complex corporate, employee and real estate transactions. I joined McBrayer having served as managing partner of the Louisville office of Landrum & Shouse, LLP where I was recognized by the Kentucky Civil Jury Trial Reporter as one of the most prolific trial attorneys in Kentucky in 2006.
