As a PCB Designer, I use the skills learned as a Sr. Eng. Tech for Otis Elevator, AFC & Tellabs to make a PCB that is easy to build, repair and meets the EMI, RFI and manufacturing requirements set forth by the Engineer. Needless complications, poor placement and layout that does not contribute to signal integrity are costly financial drains on a company that can most often, be avoided. Better communication with the Engineering team and adherence to standards, make the board not only functional, but also less expensive to produce! While seeing the world as a Engineering Tech, I had the opportunity to work in such fine companies as HP, XETRON, EG & G Frequency products, OTIS Elevator, AFC & Tellabs. I had the opportunity to learn from some great engineers. And yes, they all had their own way to do darn near EVERYTHING! Each experience brought understanding of different processes. Education is in what you do every day. I also learned a great deal in the United States Air force as an Aircraft Armament System Specialist. Digital / Analog PCB Layout.
