About Roberta Mota

I am a Linguistics student at the University of Stuttgart who loves languages and has a passion for innovation. I have started gaining knowledge of how languages work and studying languages other than English like Latin, French, and Italian, while studying English and Portuguese Language and Literature. During my undergraduate studies is also when I have acquired a good practice of writing, along with a broader knowledge of languages and how they connect and/or differ, which was essential in my linguistics training.Working as a teacher helped me put my knowledge to practice while perfecting my speaking and writing skills. Being able to perform placement exams and correct writing essays from students was a facilitating factor in obtaining an analytical look at language which is essential while working as a linguist, and is a skill required in my current work area as a technical (UX) writer. I have worked and studied in different countries which helped me be an open-minded person who easily works with different cultures and backgrounds. Currently, I am a Working Student UX Writer, where I support my team in creating, updating, and testing product documentation and in-app help using DITA CMS. All my experience has given me good language and personal skills, and has led me to learn how to work in groups.I am passionate about new experiences and learning new things. That makes me interested in innovation and the new ways to work with language while incorporating new technologies. This is why I have started studying Python on my own: I wanted to broaden my horizons and be able to do more with language for a better innovative future. I have worked as a teacher, and even though I loved being able to teach language I wanted to be challenged and work towards my growth as a linguist and technical writer. I knew I had much knowledge and passion regarding how language works which led me to focus on a Linguistics master’s degree. I am thrilled to be in the communication, innovation, and technology world.
