About Roberta Renati

I am a psychologist specialized in systemic psychotherapy, and a dance therapist. I have extensive experience in clinical work, training, and research. Currently, I'm the head of the ArtemisLab centre, which focuses on identifying and supporting gifted and talented children and their families. I also coordinate the Erasmus+ project 'GIFTED Games and Inclusion For Gifted where a training program for teachers in the field of gifted education and early identification tools have been developed. I serve as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ferrara, teaching in the TFA course, and as a Visiting Professor at the Master's program in 'Educational Interventions and Inclusive Schools' at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu. Additionally, I am a trainer for health professionals at the Milton Erickson Institute of the Bay Area (MHEIBA) in California, focusing on the systemic approach to adolescent issues, including risk behaviors and addictions, with an emphasis on family intervention and parenting support. My academic journey began with a PhD in Psychology at the University of Pavia, where I worked as a research fellow and, subsequently as adjunct professor until 2021. Then I had a research experience at the Institute for Educational Technology of the National Research Council (ITD-CNR) where I worked on teachers' digital competencies in digital game-based learning. I collaborated on the project research activities about intelligence and creativity in the life cycle at the University of Cagliari. I participated in research and intervention projects in Italy and internationally, focusing on issues such as, resilience, parenting gifted children, development of social-emotional skills. I designed and led school-based interventions and served as clinical coordinator in addiction treatment services for adolescents and adults. In 2016-2017 I led the Fondazione Cariplo-funded project “Sostenere I talenti per prevenire il disagio scolastico e sociale", an innovative project developed in the Metropolitan city of Milan. My current research explores the potential of new technologies, including serious games, in educational and clinical settings. I focus on the identification of gifted individuals and the development of parenting practices. I have authored numerous scientific articles and presented frequently at national and international conferences and symposia dedicated to advancing the field of psychology through teaching, research and applied practice.
