About Roberto Fois

I'm a basketball breathing person since i have memory, and i've been coaching since 2015. I started coaching in my hometown in Italy in 2015 where I coached Under12,Under 14 and Under 18 boys team. After Moving to London I then joined the Barking Abbey Basketball Academy where I started as assistant coach and video coordinator for the NBL Division 3 Team and for the Euroleague Adidas Next Generation Tournament (2020).I was then promoted to assistant coach for the Division 1 Team the year after. The season after I've been named by Basketball England as Head Coach for the Aspire Programme in the London Area, position that I've held since November 2021. In October 2021 i accepted a position as basketball Coach for the University of East London, where i both work with the 1st Team, as assistant coach, and 2nd team as Head Coach. Both team competing in Bucs competition (Premier & Tier 1). During the 21-22 Season i've also worked as Free Lance Video Scout for the London Lions and their EuropeCup campaign, working directly under both Coach James Vear and Nikhil Lawry. In 2022 I got promoted from Associate Head Coach to Head Coach of the Uel London Lions Team, competing in the NBL D3. In this 1st year as HC the team as reach the National Final in Manchester, won the London Conference and i've also been named Coach of The Year. In the same season the University of East London 2nd Team has also played the National Trophy Final, during the BUCS Big Wednesday, after defeating three 1st Teams during the Playoffs of the Cup. Late August 2023 i decided to accept a new challange in Italy as Assistant Coach for the Pro Team Corona Platina Piadena in the Italian B2. With this position i've also been namend Head of the Youth Teams and Head Coach for the U19 U17 and U14. During recent years i've also been part of quite few clinics and meetings in the coaching community, just to mention a pair: Speaker at “The Basketball Embassy: International Summit” for Basketball Coaches Clinic Masterclass at Basketball Immersion “Video Scouing and the New Evolution of the Game”. My goals are to continue to build my relationship with players, coaches,co-workers and anyone else involve in the basketball life and business. I am a devoted, ambitious, curious student of the game and I am always on the look out for new challenges.
