About Roberto Matassa

Dr. Matassa is an experienced scientist deeply devoted to understand the morphological, compositional, structural and functional characterization of organic, metal-inorganic and their hybrid materials, using optical and electronic microscopies, and X-ray diffraction techniques, enhancing the gathered experimental results by simple methods of quantitative imaging analyses (QIA). Recently, his scientific research activity also focuses on development of new characterization approach to investigate the morpho-chemical evolution of biomedical systems in their hydrated native state, and their interactions with nano-structured hybrid materials. These findings are also focusing for further understanding the self-assembling mechanisms of the bio-hybrid systems useful for learning the principles that govern the dynamic changes in the adaptive living systems. The achieved characterization analyses aim of growing scientific interest for engineering, sensoristic, nano-electronic, bio-photonic, biomedical, biotechnological, and pharmaceutical applications.
