About Roberto Mirande

I have 24 years experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry. Lived, worked and studied in 5 different countries throughout my life. Two of my three kids were born outside Uruguay. I am a very open and international minded person. I'm a mechanical engineer with a technical master level course in pulp and paper and experience in the same field. Graduated as MBA at IEEM in 2010 and a Master Degree in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development in 2021 at VIU, Valencia International University. Since graduated as Mechanical Engineer I started working at paper and forest products companies. I was still a student when I joined ENCE as Construction Supervisor for a Chip Mill. I worked in a Tissue mill (CMPC Group) for 2,5 years and since 2005 in Botnia Fray Bentos Pulp Mill (Oy Metsa-Botnia) today UPM Fray Bentos Uruguay Mill. Later on I contributed to the comercial side of the business giving technical support to sales in Asia for more than 6 years based in Shanghai. I performed as Product Development Director for ENCE in Spain and led the LCA, Life Cycle Assessments of all products. Nowadays I contribute to UPM Pulp Sales team from the position Director, Technical Marketing and Services.
