About Roberto Sommella

My experience in the banking sector, driving and managing the growth of new organizations, has always been focused to deliver solutions for complex processes (also across multiple sites and geographies), managing projects from scratch, along with managing the integration of companies in fast moving environments. Let me highlight my strong competencies in- Operational Risk (with focus on Third Party Risk Management)- Project/Program Management (two successful start-ups)- Compliance (developing and maintaining Group Governance frameworks)- Organization (processes and change management; organizational design); Above all, three years as Management Board Member in a Bulgarian joint venture, during which I had to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations, establishing mutually agreeable solutions with both internal and external parties. The effort put on establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships, at all levels, has brought me to live significant experiences in foreign countries, that can attest my cultural adaptability and flexibility- One Academic Year at Boston University (MA-USA) with a EU scholarship- Three years as expatriate in Sofia (Bulgaria) to set up a UniCredit newco- One year in business travel between Poland and Romania to work on specific projects- Two years in Munich (Germany) as Compliance Officer in the UC Spa foreign Branch.
