About Roberto Trevino

With over 21 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, I am an accomplished leader and public service professional with a diverse portfolio of frontline, operational, and strategic experience in protecting the users of the maritime transportation system. As the Executive Officer of the largest CG Training Center, I manage the efficient and economical operation of the shore plant, oversee the formulation and execution of the $88.2M annual unit budget and spend plans, and lead the strategic and operational planning and execution to achieve the Commanding Officer's vision. I have a strong background in all-hazards response, maritime operations ashore, maritime search and rescue planning and coordination, ports waterways and coastal security, and marine environment protection and response. I have led 280 responders in executing over 500 search and rescue cases, over 2,500 port security activities, and 475 pollution responses, and managed over $35M in federal projects per year. I have also modernized the training of the CG's largest technical workforce, producing interactive video modules, utilizing remote learning modality, and creating a community of practice. I hold a JPME II certificate from the National Defense University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Washington, with a focus on environmental management. I am passionate about serving the nation, enhancing the safety and security of the maritime domain, and developing the next generation of maritime professionals.
