About Roberto Urbani

Since 2015, I have been working as a freelance professional, and over the last five years, I have specialized as a researcher, lecturer, and manager in higher education. I am currently a Research Fellow at Luiss Leap and KTU, and a contract researcher at Luiss. I am also a program manager and a teaching assistant at Luiss Guido Carli University, where I manage the MSc in Data Science and Management and the MSc in Global Management and Politics, two interdisciplinary and cutting-edge programs that combine technical, political, and managerial skills. I also assist several professors in courses related to innovation, technology, economics, and network analysis, using tools such as R and UCINET. I have a strong background in data analysis and open innovation, which I have applied to various research projects and publications, as well as to my PhD thesis, which focuses on the impact of collaborative innovation on firm performance and competitiveness. I spent a semester as a Visiting Scholar Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University Vancouver, Canada. I have also completed a Master in Open Innovation and IP at Luiss Business School, and a Master in Management, Economics and Finance at Università degli Studi dell'Aquila, where I spent a year as an Erasmus student. In addition to my academic role, I am a certified public accountant and a city councillor at Città di Cave (Rome), where I have been elected in 2019. I am responsible for the budget and asset management of the municipality, as well as for promoting and supporting local development and innovation initiatives. I have a keen interest in public management, governance, and policy, and I have attended several courses and programs to enhance my knowledge and skills in these areas, such as Eunomia and Publica. I am passionate about learning, teaching, and solving complex problems that require multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches. I am always looking for new challenges and opportunities to apply my expertise and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and society.
