About Roberto Weger

Mine is a technical background in computer science. My professional career started as a software developer, but it gradually grew to higher managerial positions, going through all intermediate steps (team leader, line manager, full project/product manager). The main area of work has been the network management of telecommunications equipment, including air traffic control. This has always been accompanied by a high level of curiosity and desire to know more, even in fields that may appear as not strictly related to computers and telecom. The excellent networking capability and fluent English made my managers give me collateral activities (e.g. patent reference person at ERICSSON), up to the current position of Communications Manager at SITTI. Thanks to the innate interest and capability of dealing things from different points of view (not just technical ones), I am currently the representative of my company in the international working groups where both technical, human and normative standards and recommendations are being discussed and approved at European level. Besides working, I like trekking and am karate black belt (3. dan). Married, two sons (both also married), going to become grandfather.
