About Robin Amicon

Robin is a seasoned attorney and registered nurse with over 25 years of experience in the health care and legal industries. She has broad experience in all areas of health law, but primarily focuses her practice in providing legal counsel to long term care, home health, hospice, behavioral health and IDD providers. She has extensive experience representing long term care providers, including skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, assisted living/residential care facilities, continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), independent living facilities, home health agencies and hospice providers; developmental disability providers, including ICFs/IID, licensed residential facilities, and agency and independent providers; behavioral health providers; and provider trade associations. Her expertise includes state and federal licensure and certification; state and federal regulatory issues and compliance, including survey and enforcement; administrative investigations and appeals; Medicare and Medicaid laws, enrollment, filings for changes of ownership/operator and reimbursement; certificates of need; physician and nurse practice; contracts; and transactional work, including mergers, acquisitions and consolidations. Robin has been an attorney since 2005 and a registered nurse since 1997. Prior to law school, Robin practiced as a critical care and emergency department nurse, and she worked as a STNA in a nursing home and hospital while in college. Robin’s background gives her a unique perspective in understanding her client’s issues, and her dual qualifications as both a healthcare attorney and registered nurse make her exceptionally adept at navigating the complexities of the healthcare landscape.
