About Robin Ann Harvan

Robin Harvan is Professor of Health Sciences at MCPHS University in Boston. She currently also serves as Associate Editor for the International Association of Medical Sciences Educators Manuals and Editorial Board Member of Health Interprofessional Education and Practice Journal. She is currently an expert consultant at Tufts University for the HRSA funded Project SOCIAL to integrate oral health, medicine, and social work in interprofessional models of education and practice. She also serves as Investigator and Lead Evaluator for the national Center for the Integration of Primary Care and Oral Health (CIPCOH) with Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine in partnership with University of Massachusetts Medical School, MCPHS University and Stony Brook University. She served as Senior Advisor in 2012-2013 at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr) in Rockville, Maryland. In this role she was an expert consultant on program evaluation and performance measurement in the Division of Workforce and Performance Management (DWPM). From 2009-2012, she served as the Acting Deputy Director and Chief for Education at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. In this role, she developed and implemented the Concept of Operations for the Education and Training Directorate linking interprofessional training and a model of collaborative care to help service members and families manage complex cases of posttraumatic stress and/or TBIs or other complex psychological health conditions. She was Special Projects Associate for the Vice Chancellor of Health Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus from 2007-2009. From 1995-2007, she was Director of the Office of (Interprofessional) Education and Executive Director of the Colorado Area Health Education System at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. Dr. Harvan also served as Program Director of the Masters in Health Professions Education Program from 1985-1995 and Chair of the Department of Interdisciplinary (Interprofessional) Studies from 1991-1995 at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Health Related Professions.
