About Robin Beers

Educator with 14 years of classroom experience including 5 years in special education, 7 years in elementary education and currently as a middle school social studies teacher. I have an advanced professional certificate (APC) and hold certifications in early childhood education, special education, elementary education and secondary social studies education. I am an experienced leader at the school, county and state level having served as an interdisciplinary team leader and also an elected board member of my county and state educational associations. In 2013, I received the Star Award from the Special Education Citizens Advisory Council (SECAC). The Star Awards program recognizes individuals whose work with students receiving special education services in Anne Arundel County Public Schools demonstrates extraordinary effort above and beyond normal job duties. As a professional, I am most proud of my expertise in building relationships with students and colleagues and in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including adult learners as a facilitator of professional development. I possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, which is an asset in delivering instruction to students and in collaborating with my colleagues. I have a true love of learning and a passion for igniting that same love of learning in others.
