Part of my work involves helping people through all of the legal, practical and financial consequences of divorce or relationship breakdown, including arrangements for their children. Most often my clients will be in Manchester and the North West, but I frequently work for clients in London, the rest of the UK and the rest of the world. My clients' situations will normally involve trusts, businesses or international elements. I also advise many families on wealth protection through pre-nuptial, post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements. In addition, I help couples with UK surrogacy and international surrogacy arrangements, including obtaining Parental Orders to ensure that they are both legally recognised as parents. I use my experience and judgement to help my clients achieve the best solution for their family. Every client’s situation is different and I always tailor my approach to their needs. This might involve constructive face to face solicitor discussions, collaborative law, or supporting my client through mediation. If it is necessary to go to court in order to protect my client’s interests, or preserve their relationship with their children, then I will support them through this. Clients are often in a difficult emotional position when they first see me. I give them clear, straightforward advice and help them see beyond the “here and now”. I advise Coronation Street on family law matters. I am a member of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (IAML) and was named in the Citywealth 2013 and 2014 Leading Lawyers Honours list. I am also a member of Resolution. Legal 500 2013 say that I am "knowledgeable, trustworthy and reliable" and Legal 500 2014 says that I am "very experienced". Chambers 2014 says that I am described by clients as "a highly effective divorce lawyer who is an excellent negotiator as well as being incredibly supportive."
