I was selected to attend the National Student-Athlete Development Leadership Conference in Florida in 2009. This conference further enhanced my leadership ability, while teaching me new ways to lead people. Coaching at Peru State College has improved my leadership ability that much more. My experience as a Hall Director has given me the opportunity to supervise as well as mentor the Resident Assistant’s under me. Managing a hall of over 125 females gave me great appreciation and sense of purpose. I was viewed as a motherly figure and was able to be a counselor, tutor, and confidant.
