About Robin Dawson

I have been involved in education in one way or another for 15 years. I have spent the last several years teaching grades K through six. Most recently, I have taken on the task of supervising and mentoring aspiring educators as they complete their student teaching experience outside of my contractual hours as an educator. Educating others is my passion and my calling. I feel privileged to be learning and teaching in such a supportive learning environment. Each year is spent exploring and delivering rigorous standard-based, research-based curriculum to pupils in a way that is engaging and mindful. My greatest success is when a stakeholder embraces the value in their experience and gains confidence and resilience. My intent is to foster the love of learning through purposeful activities, the building of relationships, and creating high interest learning activities that incorporate technology, accountability, kindness, and an emphasis on social emotional awareness and learning. I work to build a positive, emotionally and physically “safe” environment - a low affective filter - so that others are able enough to build persistence and increase their talents and knowledge. Students and I explore and learn together, while addressing everyone’s individual needs and learning styles. My job, first and foremost, is to instill a love of learning and applying a zestful approach to learning so that my students can be well prepared global citizens as they prepare to make their unique mark on the world! Simply put: I take creative action to build a roadmap for my students, Changemakers, to make transformative differences.
