Background
About Robin Haslund Buch
Recipient of Spar Nord's Cultural Award 2022 - the reasoning was as follows: Robin Haslund Buch was born in 1972 and is something of an artistic Swiss Army knife. He is an actor, director, translator, costume designer, musician, composer and he is a nice guy with an impressive spirit. For a number of years Robin has been part of the permanent team around Vendsyssel Theater. Here he has participated in a large number of performances - in recent years in the two Christmas comedies "Turisterne" and "Motionisterne" as well as in "Kiksekartellet" under Joy Maria Fredriksen's direction. Robin has such a distinct comic talent, and no one like him can make the audience scream with laughter - for example when he tries his hand at "German". But he is much more than that. It was Robin who got the idea for one of the theatre's great successes, when he both translated and designed costumes for "Souvenir" with Henrik Koefoed and Lise-Lotte Nielsen playing the wealthy American singer Florence Foster Jenkins. He is an extremely skilled translator - most recently he was responsible for the translation of Vendsyssel Theatre's "Margarida's Way". Previously he has translated, among other things,"Aínt Misbehavin" and "Fly me to the moon" for Vendsyssel Theater and for Himmerlands Teater "A Doll's House - Part 2". He has also been on tour with Folketeatret's production of "Lend Me a Tenor". He can also paint and draw, and together with Kirstine Hedrup he has published a tarot calendar with Robin being responsible for the illustrations. He also showed his flair for illustration when he did costume designs, sets and directed Hjørring Sommerspil's "The sound of music" and "Oliver". As a costume designer, he has also designed The Lundergaard Revue and multiple productions at Sysselscenen. In addition to the theater, Robin also has a number of other merits on his CV. He is a beloved entertainer and musician around the country. Right now he is working on the performance WE NEVER GO HOME with Bente Eskesen and Susanne Breuning and together with Lise Nees he tells, sings and dances his way through the world of musicals. Robin is also a composer and has composed the music for "Dracula - a musical with overbite". In other words, Robin just has a big heart for the performing arts in all incarnations, and occasionally he also throws himself into the task of assistant director. He is possibly one of the most versatile talents, and thus he is a great ambassador for Hjørring and Vendsyssel.
