Background
About Robin Hood
Throughout my undergrad I examined the psychology and sociology behind crime and criminal development from adolescence through adulthood. My undergraduate degree included an in-depth analysis of psychopathology, childhood development, neuroscience, and cognitive psychology. To increase my understanding of criminal behavior, I paired my knowledge of psychology with a minor in law and justice. My graduate degree in law and justice allowed me to become skilled in conducting my own body of research using research methods, statistics, and theoretical perspectives of crime. My courses included theoretical framework of the court system, corrections, policing, and policy analysis. My master's thesis involves quantitative research on political affiliation of federal districts to examine sentencing outcomes on immigration offenses. My thesis includes research methods, SPSS, data collection on Excel, federal sentencing, and an in-depth examination of the effects political affiliation can have on federal sentencing. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Law and Policy to pair my knowledge of criminal justice with policy. As a data technician at Seattle Police Department, I work with dispatch, officers and outside agencies to enter stolen vehicles, missing/wanted persons, articles, guns, protection orders and more into the state (WACIC) and federal (NCIC) databases. My training has allowed me to become Access Level 2 certified in order to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of data at SPD. I approve officer’s/detectives I/O reports and supplementals to ensure accuracy of reports while working with the FBI’s UCR (uniform crime reporting) to ensure correct NIBRS reporting for federal and state statistics. I am now fully trained in all fields at data center so I am able to independently work in distribution, RMS/UCR crime reporting, and Teletype/ROI. As a senior data technician, I train data technicians in all required fields of data center, assist supervisors/manager on scheduling, and continue all previous requirements of a data technician. I conduct audits on police reports and am the first point of contact when problems arise for data technicians, officers, and other departments. My senior team was recognized by the Seattle Management Association and won the Emerging Leaders award in 2024. I was officially promoted to acting supervisor in January 2025 of the data center unit!
