About Robin Hughes

As the Dean of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), I am responsible for advancing the academic mission, vision, and values of the institution, as well as supporting the faculty, staff, and students in their academic endeavors. I have over 20 years of experience in higher education, including 14 years as a full-time faculty and 3 years as an acting dean at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). I have been the current Dean at SIUE for SEHHB for 7 years. I have a PhD in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University, and I have expertise in curriculum development, program assessment, faculty development, sports and athletic administration and higher ed policy, and strategic planning. I am passionate about fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, diversity, and inclusion at SIUE, and I strive to enhance the quality and impact of our academic programs and services to best serve eternal organizations and communities. I am committed to collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advance the goals and priorities of SIUE and to serve the needs of our community and region.
