About Robin Hurl

Hello! I'm Robin, a MSc Sociology graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. My academic career has been guided by a passion for understanding societal dynamics and advocating for social rights. My research has been influenced by these interests, with my bachelor's thesis exploring the nuances between left-wing and right-wing social movements and my master's thesis exploring the socialisation of men and its impact on the interplay between public policy and public opinion on gender roles. Besides academics, I am actively engaged in advocacy and public speaking, currently giving trainings about street harassment and how we can create safer public spaces. Additionally, I was a co-founder of a student initiative in Middelburg called Not Your Honey which raised awareness about sexual and gender based harassment in the city. Finally, I was a part of the program committee during my master, helping to improve the master program for students to come. My diverse professional background, also including roles in customer service and hospitality, has improved my interpersonal skills and ability to connect with people. Whether serving tables or facilitating discussions, I thrive in environments that demand empathy, communication, and adaptability.
