The first computer program I wrote on my own time (not related to studies) was Snake in Matlab. The framerate was awful, I actually animated the snake by having small.png images of the body that I rotated and mirrorer when the snake moved, with an if-else for each possible orientation. Was super buggy, but it was amazing seeing that weird looking thing move around, and grow longer as it ate apples. My love for software started when I could visualize its effect. Matlab is a terrible language, so I eventually grew out of it. But like a first lover, I've never forgotten it. Today I prefer working in C++. Although old I like it's strictness. I use C#, in combination with Unity for my home projects. And can tolerate Python if the circumstances are correct. As long as Python remains dynamically typed I can't consider it a serious programming language, but it has its niche usage. I would say I'm a "big-scale" programmer. I prefer working with software design, patterns, and architecture, over low level optimizations and details. In general I prefer working with "concepts" over "details". I am not so nerdy about what version of GCC is used for compiling my C++ code, or what version of Linux is used for my environment. I spend a lot of time thinking about design patterns and how to write good code in general. I love working with a physical whiteboard to brainstorm about designs and systems I want to implement.#PlantUml I prefer working at the office. Home is for relaxation, not work.
