About Robin McCann

I never really planned to become a developer, nor really to study maths. I was good at maths, sure, but I didn’t love numbers—and I almost went into music instead. But somehow I ended up doing a master's in insurance mathematics, picking up strong programming skills along the way, and found myself drawn to risk and modelling. It turns out that writing robust code, thinking deeply about process and structure, and making complex stuff work smoothly is right up my alley. These days, I work as a quantitative developer in the energy sector, where I’ve architected, built, deployed, maintained, and owned important and large-scale models. I care a lot about good documentation, purposeful processes, and code that makes sense—not just today, but two years from now. I’m well organized, manage my time carefully, and don’t shy away from responsibility. Outside of work, I sing in a male choir (Akademiska Sångföreningen) and have held various voluntary administrative positions there and in my student organization Spektrum. I’ve also developed an enthusiastic interest in natural bodybuilding, and when I have the time, I enjoy difficult indie games and live jazz.
