About Robin McClure

Mr. Robert McClure is a proven engineering professional with 30+ years of experience in technical sales, marketing, & general management for the global oil, mining, and chemicals industries and deep expertise in Lean Six Sigma, ISO14001 and OSHAS certifications. In his most recent role, he was accountable the international and wholesale businesses strategy development and execution of a small PE enterprise (Optum Energy Solutions) that was subsequently successfully acquired by the product market leader. At Clariant International Ltd, which he joined in 1998, he worked in a variety of positions, the last as Head of Regional Business, Oil and Mining Services. Directing all facets of the $120M upstream oil specialty chemicals and services business in North America, and with the support of a cross-functional team of 150 people, he grew the production chemicals, well services additives for fracturing & cementing, and deep water flow assurance product lines, improved their performance, and doubled sales. Forging and maintaining critical relationships and alliances, he won lucrative accounts, implemented a deepwater flow assurance product line market acquisition, and researched, negotiated, and finalized the acquisition of a Canadian service company into Clariant. Before, as Head of Oil Services Asia, Jakarta, Indonesia, responsible for all technical and operational functions throughout the Asia Pacific region, Mr. McClure developed a growth strategy for penetration of new markets in Asia, including North China and Thailand, and enabled the firm’s successful entry in these markets. Subsequently, Mr. McClure developed a sustainable position in both North China and Thailand. Mr. McClure holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Aberdeen University, Scotland, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry, and a Master of Science in Process Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland.
