I have worked recently for two organisations. One is a leading heating company looking to develop low carbon offers to replace fossil fuel boilers. The other is the West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service who are looking to increase fire safety awareness through commercial training. I've also spent a short spell working in the public sector for HMPPS in a role to find work placements for serving offenders to help their rehabilitation. One of the most eye-opening work assignments I have ever done. I've previously led the Innovation team for EDF Energy having had a background in strategy & marketing for various service companies in the UK such as The AA, Zurich Insurance, Royal & Sun Alliance, Encyclopaedia Britannica and NTL (now Virgin Media) plus stints at a couple of start-ups along the way. I would describe myself as - A highly motivated marketing professional - With considerable experience in strategy, comms, innovation and analysis - Good commercial acumen, true customer focus, effective leader and communicator - Strongly results orientated, highly organized and a capable decision maker Major accomplishments in Marketing include leading on • the launches of Electric Vehicle and electric heat offers - first-of-a-kind • the commercial strategy of ECO1 & 2 home insulation schemes for 4 years • the launch of EDF Bluelab accelerator for 4 years to create disruptive innovative propositions • the first TV ad & campaign for the EDF Energy (see youtube link below) • deployed the London 2012 Olympic sponsorship to maximum benefit • identified M&A opportunities in various sectors e.g. Electric Vehicle charging & Pod Point • reshaping consumer perceptions of a public utility to a private enterprise
